Baptism

Congratulations on this beautiful new chapter in your family's life! We are overjoyed to help you prepare for your child's Baptism and welcome them into our loving household of faith. To allow ample time for thoughtful preparation, we encourage you to contact us early. We look forward to guiding parents and Godparents through this meaningful journey as you get ready for this sacred responsibility. This readiness involves both following Christ as a faithful disciple and understanding the following expectations.
 

Parents:

• Complete the PDF friendly Data Form in English OR the PDF friendly Data Form in Spanish for the baptismal register, including the desired date(s) of baptism, and attach a copy of the child’s birth certificate.  Please see below for the scheduled dates.
• Attend a baptismal preparation class prior the baptism.  This may be done through classes offered at here St. Thomas More or through another Catholic parish.                                                                      
  • The Preparation class is valid for 4 years, if individuals have undergone a class for previous baptism, it is not required to take another class unless it has been over 4 years. 
  • Please provide class certificate.
• Establish or solidify your link with our parish community.  As a rule, children are baptized in the parish in which their parents reside or are registered, and we invite families who may not yet be registered in our parish to take the opportunity to do so, thereby solidifying their connection to our faith community.  

Godparents:

• Attend a baptismal preparation class prior the baptism.  This may be done through classes offered at here St. Thomas More or through another Catholic parish.                                                                          
  • The Preparation class is valid for 4 years, if individuals have undergone a class for previous baptism, it is not required to take another class unless it has been over 4 years. 
  • Please provide class certificate.
• Complete the diocesan PDF friendly Godparent Testimony Form in English OR the PDF friendly Godparent Testimony Form in Spanish. If the godparent(s) is(are) registered in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, please bring the completed but UNSIGNED form to our church and ask a priest, deacon, or minister to witness you signing the document. This witness must then sign the document and place the parish seal on it. If the godparent(s) is(are) from another Catholic church, please have the form signed and sealed at that church.
